Sofia Gonzalez

Raised in Marin County, CA, Sofia V. Gonzalez currently lives and works in San Diego. She is inspired by her natural surroundings and uses processes of sewing, staining, and color to explore her sense of place. Gonzalez received her MFA in 2014 at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, where she focused on furthering her skills in textiles and natural dye techniques.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States at venues such as the San Diego Art Institute, San Diego, CA; Irvine Fine Arts Center, Irvine, CA; The Shed, Fayetteville, AR; and Arc Gallery, San Francisco, CA, among others.
