Michelle Montjoy

Michelle Montjoy (she/her) is an Oceanside, California-based artist who works in a combination of installation, textile, sculpture and socially engaged practices. A former public school art teacher, her work is steadfast in an approach based on generosity and the power of small repetitive actions. She is the recipient of the Creative Catalyst and the California Arts Council Artists Engaging Communities grants. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Art Produce gallery, San Diego International Airport, OMA, Athenaeum and others. She is currently a member of the Boehm Gallery Advisory Board, the collective To Do-a mending project, has served as an arts commissioner,  an exhibition juror, and an occasional teacher.
