Ethan Chan

[Image description: A young man with tan skin, shoulder-length black hair, and glasses stands on a cliff with the ocean and blue sky behind him. He wears a white astronaut suit with red, blue, yellow, and silver details. Though it resembles a garment, the suit is made of fast-food sauce packets.]

Ethan Chan is an artist working in sculpture, installation and performance art based in Los Angeles & San Diego, CA. Using off-kilter materials including Happy Meal® toys, bubble gum, and sauce packets, his work examines a love for all things kitsch, cookie-cutter, and plastic; and in its transformation, attempts to place itself at the intersection between globalism and Americana.

His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Oceanside Museum of Art, Oceanside, CA; Quint Gallery, La Jolla, CA; THE LINE Contemporary Art, London; and THE ROOM Contemporary Art, Venice, among many others.

He earned his BA in Sculpture & Installation from Point Loma University in San Diego.
