Adam Belt has explored the inherent properties of materials in order to show their potential and reveal the unseen forces that shape our physical world. His artwork is at once minimal and deep in meaning about the world around us. His interest in the environment has led his art practice to correlate with the sciences, from geology to astronomy, and his explorations are portrayed through unique and exciting means.

Belt received his M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University in 2001, an experience that helped shape his practice while living so close to Joshua Tree National Park. His work is in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego. Belt is Adjunct Professor at Mira Costa College in Oceanside and currently lives and works in Carlsbad, CA.
